Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, which is intended to stop the so-called email spoofing where an email message is sent from one e-mail address, but to seem as being sent from another, ordinarily with the idea to scam the recipient someway. When SPF protection is enabled for a domain name, a specific record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all the DNS servers worldwide have it. The record features all of the email servers that are allowed to send legitimate messages from an address under the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the very first DNS server it goes to verifies the SPF record and when its sending server is authorized, the message is forwarded to the targeted destination. When, however, the sending server is not present in the SPF record for the specified domain, the e-mail message will not be sent and it'll be discarded. Whenever you use this service, it will stop third parties from sending spam e-mails that seem to have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Cloud Hosting

The SPF protection option is accessible by default with every single cloud hosting package that we offer and you can use it with ease to secure the email addresses for any domain hosted as part of your account. The service is operated from the Emails section of our state-of-the-art, albeit easy-to-navigate Hepsia Control Panel. All it takes to activate the protection is to type the IP address of the mail server in addition to its hostname - mail.server.com, for instance. Once the protection is activated, only this server will be able to send e-mails from emails generated under the domain name that you've selected. Your email addresses may be managed by some other supplier, but when we take care of them along with your site, you can also activate an option for e-mail messages to be sent only when the domain uses our MX records. This option gives you improved protection as only our server will be permitted to send out messages from your mailboxes and you'll have superior control. When you have any questions or in case you experience any kind of difficulties with this service, you'll be able to contact our tech support team at any time and they will give you a hand immediately.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

The SPF protection feature is provided with all of the Linux semi-dedicated servers, so when you host your domains in an account on our cloud hosting platform, you will be able to activate this particular service without difficulty for all of your domain names. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with the semi-dedicated accounts, has a rather user-friendly interface, therefore you won't have to be tech-savvy in order to secure your emails. You'll simply have to type the hostname and the IP of each mail server that you would like to be certified to send e-mails from your addresses and immediately after that the updated record will be active for the domain that you have picked. As a further option, we will also allow you to restrict the outgoing emails and secure your mailboxes further by permitting email messages to be sent only when the domain in question contains our MX records i.e. the emails for the domain need to be handled by us and not by some other company. By doing so you'll have even better control and there will not be a chance for any person to fake your e-mail addresses for malicious objectives.
